About the event

Round 4 of the BWA National Tour.

The seaside town of Rhosneigr on Anglesey is the Pozo of the UK! With predominantly moderately side onshore conditions that allow for rocket jumping and backside and frontside wavering in south west winds, this location rarely disappoints spectators or competitors…

Rhosneigr Wave Classic (RWC) is an event which is committed to promoting all levels of wavesailing by providing competitors with the best possible platform on which to perform. Roll over format should allow for excellent conditions, high-quality judging, robust safety cover and professional media.

As with all windsurf competitions, the ability to run the event is dependent on suitable weather. Our aim is to run competition whenever conditions allow for reasonable and competitive heats.

September has been selected based on its strong long-term wind and wave statistics, and the three-day rollover format is designed to maximise our chances of securing a suitable weather window for competition.

The Rhosneigr Wave Classic 2026 is a Roll Over event which for 2026 counts towards Welsh National titles and the UK tour titles.

What is a Roll Over Event? A roll-over event accounts for the unpredictable nature of wind conditions. If windsurfing conditions are unsuitable during the initial scheduled weekend, the event automatically rolls over to the backup dates. This ensures competitors and spectators enjoy the best possible windsurfing conditions for high-quality performances and safety.

To deliver a safe, well-run and professionally supported event, we must secure judges, safety teams and media crews in advance for the full potential event period. This carries unavoidable costs. For that reason, we will retain 25% of the entry fee regardless of whether the competition ultimately runs. This ensures that the event remains financially sustainable and can continue in future years.
